A Modern Tragedy

Do you want to know what a great modern tragedy is? To be born an original and die a copy. You were made for such a time as this. You were uniquely created for this time. Too often, we lose ourselves in trying to be someone else.

As I shared in Leave Bad Advice In 2023, you have to know who God created you to be and accept advice that lines up with your God-given identity. Your God-given identity will not contradict God’s Word. Your God-given identity is essential to walking out God’s plan for your life.

If you try to be who you are not, your life, family, business, career, and ministry will never rise to the level God has called it to. When you embrace your God-given identity, you will overcome all symptoms of imposter syndrome. Don’t become a copy of someone else. Be who God has called you to be.

Here’s a simple step forward in embracing your God-given identity: take what you know about who God has created you to be and what He has called you to do, and write it down. Then, identify with it. Look in the mirror and say, “I am who God says I am. I can do what He says I can do.”

As you practice this step, you’ll grow. You will be emboldened to make changes you need to make. You won’t be afraid of self-disruption. To continually grow in understanding your God-given identity, daily read His Word and pray the Ephesians 1 prayer.

You are here for such a time as this. We all need you to be who God has created you to be. Have a wonderful day.

South Cobb Business Association

In 2024, I have the honor and privilege of serving as the President of the South Cobb Business Association. This past Wednesday, we had our first SCBA luncheon of the year. The turnout was phenomenal and the panelists provided an economic outlook for our area and what the cities are doing to encourage economic development.

If you are a business leader or owner in South Cobb, I want to encourage you to get involved. South Cobb is open for business. Let’s prosper together. For more information about SCBA, click here.

Daily Encouragement

This past Fall, my wife and I started a daily newsletter to help you start your day with faith and encouragement. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can do so by clicking here. We would love for you to add Faith in the Morning to your morning routine.

Hi, Pastor Kerrick. I hope all is well with you and yours. I’m the Content Director for Lead With Inspiration an e-source for pastors and ministry leaders published by Inspiration Travel (www.inspirationtravel.com). I’m very interested in your involvement with the South Cobb Business Association and would like to feature you in a piece discussing pastors/churches influencing the business sector. I see that you’ll be at NRB and, if possible, would like to connect in person.

    Yours in the Kingdom,
