Happy Taco Tuesday! I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful start to your week. If you’ve been connected to me for a while, you know that Taco Tuesday is very important to our family. It’s a big deal in our house. One of our daughters called it our weekly family holiday.
We talk. We listen to music. We lay out of spread of tacos, fillings, chips, sides, peppers, and since it is now Fall, taco soup. It’s a fun time with family feasting on food that we all enjoy.
Did you know that God has a feast and a spread for you? Psalms 23:5 says, “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.”
His table includes all of His goodness, provision, truth, and wisdom. Every wonderful thing He has given us in Jesus is there. There is more at this table than you have ever imagined. With an overflowing table, it is up to you to choose and partake. There are so many things to feast on! Did you know that you can feast on the truth of God’s Word? I highly recommend it!
Years ago, I realized that fear was working in a certain area of my life. I never thought of it as fear before. To me, it seemed a normal way of thinking. When I realized that it was fear, I knew what I had to do. I had to evict it from my life. Fear tolerated is faith contaminated.
1st John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”
I made the decision to feast on the truth of God’s love for me. You can correctly say that I immersed myself in that truth. I filled my iPod with sermons about the love of God. I listened to it every where I went. I consumed and feasted on the truth of God’s love. What was the result? The fear that I was facing left my life. Additionally, other fears (that I didn’t even know where there) left my life as well.
What truth of God’s word do you need to feast on? Maybe it is on God’s love. (If so, check out this playlist). Maybe it is on God’s peace. (If it is, check out this playlist). Whatever it is, I encourage you to feast on that particular Scriptural truth until your life is transformed. You’ll be glad you did!
